The blue and green hued tourmalines in the Down the Nile necklace flow like its namesake river. Yellow gold, like the African sunrise, snakes downward to illuminate Blue tourmalines near the shoulders, symbolic of Lake Tana and Victoria Falls which feed the Nile river. Tourmalines cascade down and merge in the shape of a "Y" like the Nile at Khartoum from its two tributary sources, and are spaced with white diamonds, in tribute to the White Nile. Down the Nile plunges into a sizeable stunning blue-green pear drop tourmaline cabochon reminescent to the Mediterranean Sea where the Nile ends in Egypt. To the early Egyptians, green was a sacred color associated with the fertility of the land annually flooded by the Nile and is echoed in the tourmaline hues of this bauble. Pharaohs were buried with green gemstones as a symbol of eternal life. With its stunning design and quality craftsmanship worthy of the Pharaohs, this bauble will live eternally.
